Physicians : Dr. Cristina Sciavolino

Dr. Cristina Sciavolino is a board-certified physician with an impressive record in both Internal Medicine and ongoing Primary Care. Unlike Emergency Room physicians who do not welcome repeat visits, Dr. Sciavolino has a 100% approval rating among patients, and is committed to spend the extra time required to build an ongoing doctor-patient relationship. She specializes in providing long-term primary care for issues as varied as blood pressure regulation, diabetes and cholesterol management, weight loss and even quitting smoking.

Born and raised in New York City, Dr. Sciavolino received her Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Psychology at Brooklyn College, and her Medical Degree at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn. She completed her internship at Cornell-NY Hospital in Pediatrics, and followed that with an Internal Medicine residency at Staten Island University Hospital. She later was appointed chief medical resident with both teaching and administrative  duties.

Dr. Sciavolino has focused on patient education via community outreach seminars on prevention and primary care. Prior to opening her private practice, she was involved in the American Cancer Society board of directors and one of its task forces. She also has served as a medical compliance officer for chart review audits and has lectured on physician documentation guidelines. Her other areas of professional interest include coronary heart disease prevention with control of hypertension, diabetes and cholesterol issues, along with women‚s health, primary care and cancer prevention screenings.
